Mr. Cornelius Richards, Senior Forestry Supervisor, said that Vincentian farmers should adopt integrated forest management practices.

He said that Agro-forestry remains one of the most efficient ways of maintaining the forests without affecting food production. This type of forestry includes the planting of trees strategically on farming settings which can help to reduce the effects of climate change significantly.

Mr. Richards further stated that in observance of World Food Day 2016, the advent of climate change has reaffirmed the importance of integrated crop management.

This year, the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization’s (FAO’s), global message for World Food Day 2016 is: “Climate is changing, Food and Agriculture Must Too”.
