The Ministry is the institutional body of the state responsible for the 
formulation, articulation and implementation of all policies and plans relating to Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries, Rural Transformation, Industry & Labour. 
The administrative arm of this Ministry is responsible for:
   - The co-ordination of all programmes of the various Departments, Divisions and Units.
  - The maintenance of communication with local, regional and international bodies affecting the functions of the Ministry.
  - The administration of revenue and expenditure transactions approved by Parliament.

OECS Ministers Of Agriculture Summit Was A Success – Says Local Agriculture Minister

The recently concluded two-day OECS Ministers of Agriculture Summit has been hailed a success by Minister of Agriculture, Honourable Saboto Caesar.

The summit was held last Thursday 31st August, 2023 and Friday 1st September, 2023 at the NIS Conference Room, to discuss the Food and Agriculture Systems Transformation (FAST) Strategy.

Speaking with NBC News at the conclusion of the deliberations, Minister Caesar said the issues discussed included reviving an arrangement for collective marketing.

Minister Caesar said several crops will be marketed under the proposed arrangement.


The FAST strategy was created to establish more efficient and sustainable methods for food and agriculture production, processing, and distribution, to offset rising food costs.
