Minister of Agriculture Saboto Caesar said one of the aims of his ministry is to enhance agricultural productivity in Saint Vincent And The Grenadines.

Two Technical Experts from the National Learning Service of Colombia, SENA, are in the state to provide technical expertise in Fruit Preservation and Drying, as well as Cocoa Production.

The Forestry Department in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries and Rural Transformation, said that there were three reported cases of river poisoning over the Easter weekend.

Mr. Bradford Latham, Forestry Officer with responsibility for Law Compliance, said that two of these cases, which occurred in Marriaqua and in Georgetown, were deemed accidental.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is currently participating in a regional Program aimed at coral reef protection, dubbed, the Atlantic and Gulf Rapid Reef Assessment or (AGRRA), Program.

New technologies are being introduced by the Ministry of Agriculture, to improve Banana Production in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

The Ministry is partnering with H2K Agro to conduct trials on Banana Farms with the aim of controlling the Black Sigatoka and Moko diseases that have been affecting the banana industry.
