Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is currently participating in a regional Program aimed at coral reef protection, dubbed, the Atlantic and Gulf Rapid Reef Assessment or (AGRRA), Program.
The Forestry Department in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries and Rural Transformation, said that there were three reported cases of river poisoning over the Easter weekend.
Mr. Bradford Latham, Forestry Officer with responsibility for Law Compliance, said that two of these cases, which occurred in Marriaqua and in Georgetown, were deemed accidental.
New technologies are being introduced by the Ministry of Agriculture, to improve Banana Production in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
The Ministry is partnering with H2K Agro to conduct trials on Banana Farms with the aim of controlling the Black Sigatoka and Moko diseases that have been affecting the banana industry.
A community group is collaborating with the Public Health and Forestry Departments to implement a pilot project geared towards climate change mitigation and adaptation.
